Flood Alert tool now live

In the last month we have seen some of the most dramatic flooding since 2007 as parts of the UK endured severe disruption. With the Environment Agency issuing over 200 flood warnings and alerts, how does conveyancing due diligence react to the growing news stories warning of flood risk?

As pressure to increase house building continues to put a potential strain on development within flood risk areas and an insurance community who are seemingly becoming more risk averse, offering information on flood risk looks to be growing in importance for the property professional. This was reflected last year when we witnessed the arrival of the Law Society Practice Note on flood risk and its recommendations to make further investigations where appropriate.

Flood Alert tool now live

Today we have launched a residential Flood Alert tool in association with Landmark Information Group. This service ensures that you’ll know when flood risk needs to form part of your due diligence process. Customers searching by postcode on the ordering pages of  the website will now be alerted if a property is located in an area where flood risk could be a concern. This will be conveyed via a recommendation to obtain a Homecheck Professional Flood Report shown at the top of the product ordering page.
